Islamophbia is an exaggerated fear, hatred, and hostility toward Islam and Muslims that is perpetuated by negative stereotypes resulting in bias, discrimination, and the marginalization and exclusion of Muslims from social, political, and civic life. In the recent times, with the proliferation of social media, Islamophobia has spread like a wildfire consuming large part of the modern world. It has poisoned a large part of youth minds in today’s world. This in turn has led to different forms of attacks on Muslims as well as their social, political and economic exclusion. Islamophobia further emboldens the justification of crimes against Muslims.
Facebook and Whats App have come up as the most potent platforms for all forms of hate including Islamophobia.
